During our semester of "Introduction to Horseback Riding" with theory classes, we will provide you with basic horse care skills and knowledge. You will be able to ride without stirrups and work over ground poles, while learning the fundamentals of topics such as equine nutrition, safety, and management of the horse and its sport. Students will have the opportunity to sit in on guest speakers like Nutrition Specialists, Farriers, and Veterinarians to explain the importance of their work in the care for the horse, and to help students understand the horse from every angle. During the mounted and dismounted lessons, students will learn basic groundwork and natural horsemanship techniques, along with the basics of dressage & jumping positions to learn the different disciplines, and improve their core strength and balance.
Exams in both theory and practice will be done throughout the course, and students will learn the basic safety measures of teaching what they have learned to their classmates under trainers supervision and guidance, to reinforce their new skills. Our courses aim not only to educate future horse professionals and/or one day owners, but they help students and children become self sufficient, responsible, caring, and confident in day-to-day life.
Class enrollment has limited availability as classes only consist of up to 8 students that will be subdivided into smaller groups, allowing us to fine tune each individuals skills. This is a fun, relaxed environment with similar age groups of children (8-14) and older teens/adults.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to save your spot.
The remaining balance is to be paid on 1st of each month in 3 payments.
